The Bloody Shooter

That was the first game designed from the ground by me, including graphical style, GUI and original idea. Nearly all the programming was done by a friend and the game was implemented in about three-four days. Technology used was DirectX 7.

The game was quite simple but really addictive. Player controls a small soldier that must survive to waves of maniac aliens. Every new round there are more aliens, they move faster and they are more intelligent (detection radius is increased). That way, game never finishes, it just gets more difficult every round until the point it gets impossible to survive. The game is a matter of beating hi-scores.

One of the key points of the game is its visual style. I decided to keep the graphics in Black and White with blood in red to make it look more stunning when all the screen gets covered with red blood. The amount of blood also provides extra points! Some years after this game, I’ve seen that idea was used in a commercial game.

All the graphics where designed in Flash and exported to bitmaps for the game. A Flash version of the game was under development but it was never finished.
